It\u2019s the week of the musical on Manchester Metrolink as it becomes the second UK tramway to start advertising the Wicked: For Good movie (two trams for Metrolink as well as on the West Midlands Metro), whilst a musical from a much earlier era is also seen with a partial advert for the new production of Singin\u2019 In The Rain at the Royal Exchange Theatre. The three trams to receive these latest vinyls are 3101<\/strong> and 3117<\/strong> (Wicked: For Good) and 3104<\/strong> (Singin\u2019 In The Rain).<\/p>\n

Both 3101<\/strong> and 3117<\/strong> have received identical adverts and it is similar to the vinyls seen on West Midlands Metro pair 51<\/strong> and 57<\/strong>. The main difference is that in the West Midlands the vinyls cover all the windows whilst in Manchester the windows closest to the ends of the tram have been mainly left free.<\/p>\n

3101<\/strong> had only been back in fleet livery for a few days before the new advert was applied with the Me+Em ad being removed earlier this month. This had been its first advert which obviously means Wicked: For Good is its second ad.<\/p>\n

For 3117<\/strong> it is now onto its eight different advert. Previous vinyls have been for Manchester College, Cyberpunk 2077, Lifebuoy Soap, Yayoi Kusama Aviva Studio, Marks Electrical, Aperol Spritz and Wednesday. The last of these was removed in late August 2025 so its spent a couple of months back in fleet livery.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 3104<\/strong> is now carrying a partial advert for Singin\u2019 In The Rain. As with previous Royal Exchange adverts the tram is still in full fleet livery with limited vinyls applied over this to promote the new production of the classic musical.<\/p>\n

3104<\/strong>\u2019s new vinyls come hot on the heels of an ad for Manchester Airport which came off a couple of weeks ago.<\/p>\n
