The last numbered tram in the Edinburgh Trams fleet, 277<\/strong>, has received its very first full wrap (as opposed to the more regular partial designs) with Scottish Rugby returning with their first advert since the vinyls were removed from 260 in June 2025.<\/p>\n

277<\/strong>\u2019s advert made its debut in mid-October and it is mainly promoting the Scotland v England women\u2019s Rugby Union international which will take place at Murrayfield Stadium on 18th<\/sup> April 2026. This is a significant move for women\u2019s rugby in Scotland as it has seen the match moved from the smaller The Hive stadium next to Murrayfield to the home of Scottish rugby allowing a much larger crowd, in fact they have already sold more tickets to the match than the capacity of The Hive!<\/p>\n

The advert is of the traditional full wrap style with the windows on the third and fifth section featuring vinyls whilst all the other sections only have vinyls above below and around the windows. It features a purple colour at one end, turquoise at the other with pale blues elsewhere.<\/p>\n

277<\/strong> had previously been advertising the Port of Leith Distillery in an advert which had been on the tram since December 2023. Other adverts for the tram have been CR Smith, Parabola My Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh International Festival, Hard Rock Caf\u00e9, BT \u2013 Spirit of Scottish Rugby, Hard Rock Caf\u00e9 \u2013 Messi Chicken Sandwich.<\/p>\n

Scottish Rugby have had plenty of adverts over the years with 260<\/strong>, 261<\/strong> and 275<\/strong> all previously promoting the men\u2019s and women\u2019s sides. And with their home matches at Murrayfield it\u2019s a perfect partnership as what better way to get to the match than by tram!<\/p>\n

The blue\/turquoise end of the tram is seen as the tram pulls away from St Andrew Square bound for Newhaven.<\/p><\/div>\n

Then we see the other end of the tram \u2013 as well as a side view showing more of the advert \u2013 as it turns from North Saint Andrew Street on to York Place with it continuing its journey to Newhaven.
