{"id":60311,"date":"2025-10-02T22:00:59","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T21:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=60311"},"modified":"2025-10-02T13:35:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T12:35:19","slug":"more-tyne-and-wear-metro-scrappings-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=60311","title":{"rendered":"More Tyne and Wear Metro scrappings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have now reached 35 of the original Tyne and Wear Metro trains have been scrapped (or at least sent for scrapping) with another two having recently been transported to J Denham Metals in Shildon for \u201crecycling\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The latest two to make their final journey have been <strong>4067<\/strong> and <strong>4004<\/strong>. <strong>4067<\/strong> was the first to go on 30<sup>th<\/sup> September with <strong>4004<\/strong> then following on 1<sup>st<\/sup> October 2025. As with the previous scrap moves the trains were sandwiched between two other Metrocars to be moved from the main depot at Gosforth to Howdon, which is where they are collected to make the move to Shildon.<\/p>\n<p>The 35 trains which have now been scrapped are <strong>4002<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>4004<\/strong>, <strong>4007<\/strong>, <strong>4010<\/strong>. <strong>4012<\/strong>, <strong>4013<\/strong>, <strong>4016<\/strong>, <strong>4018<\/strong>, <strong>4021<\/strong>, <strong>4022<\/strong>, <strong>4025<\/strong>, <strong>4031<\/strong>, <strong>4033<\/strong>, <strong>4034<\/strong>, <strong>4036<\/strong>, <strong>4037<\/strong>, <strong>4040<\/strong>, <strong>4048<\/strong>, <strong>4052<\/strong>, <strong>4054<\/strong>, <strong>4055<\/strong>, <strong>4057<\/strong>, <strong>4062<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>4064<\/strong>, <strong>4067<\/strong>, <strong>4070<\/strong>, <strong>4072<\/strong>, <strong>4076<\/strong>, <strong>4077<\/strong>, <strong>4082<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>4084<\/strong>, and <strong>4088<\/strong>.
