One of the features of the new Tyne and Wear Metro trains is artwork at the end of each carriage, and now the replica Metro train at the Tiny Toon miniature play village in Newcastle City Centre will also feature art \u2013 although these have been designed by budding artists from local primary schools.<\/p>\n

240 entries were received from primary school children with their task being to draw their favourite places to go by the Metro. Four lucky children then had their designs selected \u2013 Freddie (aged 7), Mikael (aged 6), Amelie (aged 9) and Daisy (aged 7).<\/p>\n
Sarah McCourt, Head of Communications and Marketing at Nexus, said: \u201cA huge thank you to all the schools and children who took part. We were really impressed by the creativity, talent and sense of fun in the designs. It\u2019s clear that the children love taking day trips on the Metro with their families, and we hope they\u2019ll be doing lots of that this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n
