Tramlines \u2013 a music festival which takes place in Hillsborough Park \u2013 returned for three days of music including headlines acts such as Pulp, Reytons and Kasbian from Friday 25th<\/sup> to Sunday 27th<\/sup> July. With Hillsborough Park being right by the South Yorkshire Supertram route to Middlewood, the trams are an ideal way to get to and from the event and in this article we see images of the crowds heading to the festival.<\/p>\n

During the day normal services operate on both the Blue and Yellow routes with trams every 12 minutes to both Malin Bridge and Middlewood, combining to give a 6 minute frequency as far as Hillsborough Interchange. Its in the evenings that things get a bit different with both the Blue and Yellow routes from the city terminating at Shalesmoor. Special event trams then run from Leppings Lane (citybound platform only) with other stops (Middlewood, Hillsborough Park, Malin Bridge and Hillsborough) closed whilst safety reasons may mean Bamforth Street, Langsett Primrose View and Infirmary Road will also not be served by the trams. This revision is expected to be in place 2130-2300 on the first two of festival and 2030-2200 on the Sunday.<\/p>\n

121 has just arrived at Hillsborough Interchange with a Blue route service to Malin Bridge and crowds of people have got off and now start the walk to Tramlines.<\/p><\/div>\n

More crowds at Hillsborough Park with 103 having released lots more people to go the festival. The tram will continue through to Middlewood.<\/p><\/div>\n

Large signage at Leppings Lane lets everyone know that this is the only stop which will be served by trams in the evening.<\/p><\/div>\n
