{"id":58601,"date":"2025-05-29T22:00:53","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T21:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58601"},"modified":"2025-05-29T19:09:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T18:09:00","slug":"555-007-the-latest-to-enter-service-on-tyne-and-wear-metro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58601","title":{"rendered":"555 007 the latest to enter service on Tyne and Wear Metro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>11 of the Stadler built Tyne and Wear Metro trains have now carried passengers with <strong>555 007<\/strong> the latest to enter service \u2013 although its initial entry was a brief one with it removed from service after a short period.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>555 007<\/strong> arrived on the Tyne and Wear Metro network on 13<sup>th<\/sup> September 2024, part of a delivery with <strong>555 006<\/strong> (a unit which entered service a few days ahead of it on 20<sup>th<\/sup> May 2025).<\/p>\n<p>After commissioning, testing and use on driver training <strong>555 007<\/strong> was cleared for service and was used for the first time on Saturday 24<sup>th<\/sup> May 2025. Unfortunately, it wasn\u2019t to be a smooth entry into service as it was declared a failure at Pelaw and was replaced.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 46 trains are being built in Switzerland by Stadler with so far 19 having been delivered to northeast England (all of them by rail).
