The latest special event to take place at the East Anglia Transport Museum was a 1960s weekend with the museum transported back 60 years on Saturday 17th<\/sup> and Sunday 18th<\/sup> May 2025. With the sights and sounds of the swinging 60s, all the usual museum attractions were also on offer and, of course, that includes the trams! Bryan Grint captured these images on the first day of the event.<\/p>\n

Where else to start than the classic Chapel Road shot of two trams and a trolleybus. On this day the two trams in service were London Transport 1858 (built 1930) and Sheffield 513 (built 1950) which await departure. Alongside them is Bournemouth trolleybus 286 (built in 1959 and the final service trolleybus in the south coast town in 1969). The nice springtime weather continued with stunning blue skies overhead.<\/p><\/div>\n

Blackpool Standard 159 was taken out of the depot and stabled on the spur line to the new land. Beyond the Standard Car you can make out the west tram depot.<\/p><\/div>\n

Meanwhile, in the main depot and a pair of Blackpool trams look on as they wait for 60s cover band, The Austin Beats to start their set.
