{"id":58343,"date":"2025-05-09T18:00:04","date_gmt":"2025-05-09T17:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58343"},"modified":"2025-05-04T11:35:42","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T10:35:42","slug":"picture-in-time-manchester-metrolink-1019-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58343","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Manchester Metrolink 1019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the next five weeks \u201cPicture in Time\u201d will be featuring images taken on the Manchester Metrolink system in the summer of 1994 by Donald Brooks.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This first photo shows T68 <strong>1019<\/strong> crossing Windmill Street as it leaves the tram and bus reservation alongside Lower Mosley Street. On the left is the corner of the Midland Hotel and beyond it can be seen the Lutyens-designed Cenotaph, moved in 2014 to create space for the expansion of the St Peter\u2019s Square tram stop. The right hand side is where a lot of difference can be seen as well with the block now containing the Premier Inn yet to be constructed, although there are boards up talking about the development of the area with new offices planned.<\/p>\n<p>The tram is named \u201cThe Eric Black\u201d.
