{"id":58188,"date":"2025-05-05T20:00:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T19:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58188"},"modified":"2025-05-05T11:15:26","modified_gmt":"2025-05-05T10:15:26","slug":"in-pictures-car-park-opens-at-north-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58188","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: Car Park opens at North Station"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on from our reports a few weeks ago that work was underway in earnest on the construction of a car park next to Blackpool North Station tram terminus it has now been confirmed that it has opened to the public, as we see in the below photos from Peter Dockerty.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As you\u2019ll remember, when the tramway extension opened the terminus was surrounded by what can best be described as wasteground with development plans having stalled. It had been decided last year that it would become a (temporary) car park but despite this no real work took place until last month, and once they got going fairly rapid progress was made allowing it to open in time for Easter to provide additional car parking in the town.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_58189\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1.012-pd.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58189\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-58189\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1.012-pd-550x413.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1.012-pd-550x413.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1.012-pd-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1.012-pd.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-58189\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With fresh tarmac and neater fencing the area around the approach to the tram terminus now looks a lot better that it once did. There does still remain some of the orange temporary fencing but on the whole the low wooden fencing now dominates.
