{"id":58002,"date":"2025-04-10T18:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T17:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58002"},"modified":"2025-04-09T19:34:59","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T18:34:59","slug":"supertram-engineering-works-18th-to-20th-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=58002","title":{"rendered":"Supertram Engineering Works: 18th to 20th April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South Yorkshire Supertram services will not run from Shalesmoor to either Malin Bridge or Middlewood for three days at the start of the Easter weekend and full details of the planned service alterations, replacement transport options and what work is due to take place have now been announced.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Work will be taking place around Hillsborough for all three days (Friday 18<sup>th<\/sup> to Sunday 20<sup>th<\/sup> April) and at Middlewood on just Sunday 20<sup>th<\/sup> April and a number of different tasks are due to be completed. These will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Track renewal at Hillsborough Interchange<\/li>\n<li>Repairs to the trackbed at Hillsborough Corner<\/li>\n<li>Track renewal near Middlewood Park and Ride<\/li>\n<li>Overhead line equipment renewal on Middlewood Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During all three days the following tram services will be running:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BLUE \u2013 Halfway to Shalesmoor<\/li>\n<li>YELLOW \u2013 Meadowhall to Shalesmoor<\/li>\n<li>The PURPLE and TRAM-TRAIN routes will continue to run as normal (the TRAM-TRAIN service will be suspended after 1700 on the Saturday as per the current, and until the winter, pattern to allow Magna tramstop construction works to take place)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Replacement buses will run:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BL1 \u2013 Shalesmoor to Malin Bridge (all three days)<\/li>\n<li>YE1 \u2013 Cathedral to Middlewood (Friday and Saturday)<\/li>\n<li>YE2 \u2013 Shalesmoor to Middlewood (Sunday)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The nature of the works means there will be road closures around Hillsborough. Hillsborough Interchange will be closed to buses with services instead using alternative bus stops.
