{"id":57818,"date":"2025-04-15T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=57818"},"modified":"2025-04-15T12:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T11:41:08","slug":"more-metrolink-improvement-works-to-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=57818","title":{"rendered":"More Metrolink improvement works to come"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There may currently be major renewal works taking place on the Manchester Metrolink network affecting services running via Market Street and Shudehill (which continue until Wednesday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> April) but that is just one part of the major investment to be seen on the network this year with several other periods of work announced so far this year, up until the start of June.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> to Monday 5<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rail renewal works between Westwood and Derker on the Rochdale line<\/li>\n<li>No trams will run between Freehold and Rochdale Town Centre for all 3 days<\/li>\n<li>Trams will continue to run between East Didsbury and Freehold (every 12 minutes outside of peak times, with the Saturday seeing the additional peak service running as far as Freehold too)<\/li>\n<li>Bus replacement services will run instead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday 10<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 11<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Repairs taking place to Whitefield Tunnel roof<\/li>\n<li>On Saturday 10<sup>th<\/sup> no trams will run between Crumpsall and Bury<\/li>\n<li>On Sunday 11<sup>th<\/sup> no trams will between Whitefield and Bury<\/li>\n<li>Trams will continue to run from Piccadilly to Crumpsall\/Whitefield<\/li>\n<li>On Saturday 10<sup>th<\/sup> trams which usually run between Altrincham and Bury will be diverted to run to Piccadilly with the usual all-day Altrincham-Piccadilly service extended to Etihad Campus. The MediaCityUK-Etihad Campus will not run.<\/li>\n<li>Bus replacements will run instead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sunday 25<sup>th<\/sup> May to Sunday 1<sup>st<\/sup> June<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Further repairs to take place on the Whitefield Tunnel roof<\/li>\n<li>On Sunday 25<sup>th<\/sup> and Friday 30<sup>th<\/sup> May to Sunday 1<sup>st<\/sup> June there will be no trams between Crumpsall and Bury<\/li>\n<li>Monday 26<sup>th<\/sup> to Thursday 29<sup>th<\/sup> May no trams between Whitefield and Bury<\/li>\n<li>Trams will run from Piccadilly to Crumpsall\/Whitefield<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 25<sup>th<\/sup>, Monday 26<sup>th, <\/sup>Friday 30<sup>th<\/sup>, Saturday 31<sup>st<\/sup> May trams which usually run between Altrincham and Bury will be diverted to run to Piccadilly with the usual all-day Altrincham-Piccadilly service extended to Etihad Campus.
