It can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/McrMetrolink\">http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/McrMetrolink<\/a> and is the latest step from Metrolink to try and improve communications to passengers during service disruption.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Peter Cushing, who seems to have become a very controversial figure over the past few days in his role as TfGM\u2019s Metrolink Director, commented: \u201cWe have been working hard with the Metrolink operator MRDL to establish a live twitter feed providing customers with the latest travel information and I\u2019m delighted to say it will be going live at 6.30am Thursday morning. We want to ensure Metrolink passengers have the best possible access to live, up-to-date information about services and this new Twitter feed will go a long way towards providing what people want and need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The account will be maintained by the Customer Services and Operations team from the control room in Trafford Bar and will also act as a two way communication with passengers able to tweet questions in which will be answered as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Manager for Metrolink RATP Dev Limited, Nicola Watson, said: \u201cTwitter will give us another platform with which to build on our provision of travel information to customers. By providing up-to-the-minute details of what\u2019s happening on the Metrolink network we can arm our customers with more accurate travel advice and they in turn can make better choices on their journeys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The service updates section of the Manchester Metrolink website (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrolink.co.uk\">http:\/\/www.metrolink.co.uk<\/a>) has also been recently updated and now provides clearer details of how the service is running on each line as well as giving information on how many double units are running and where.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An official Twitter feed for Manchester Metrolink has gone live to give passengers the\u00a0 latest updates on the service being operated across the network between 0630 and 1900 on weekdays and 0800 to 1800 at weekends.
