This time work will be taking place at York Street in the city centre which will mean changes to service patterns and some services being diverted across the city centre.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>York Street is on the original city crossing (1CC) on Mosley Street and with the work taking place there no trams will be able to travel between Picadilly Gardens\/Market Street and St Peter\u2019s Square. Services running from St Peter\u2019s Square will be diverted via 2CC to Victoria whilst those from the Ashton line also going to Victoria (and beyond) via Market Street\/Shudehill The work is due to take place between Saturday 1<sup>st<\/sup> and Sunday 16<sup>th<\/sup> March (with services back to normal from Monday 17<sup>th<\/sup> March).<\/p>\n<p>During this period the following services will operate:<\/p>\n<p>Monday-Saturday<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bury \u2013 Altrincham via Exchange Square<\/li>\n<li>Bury \u2013 Altrincham via Exchange Square (peak time extras to give a 6 minute frequency between these two stops<\/li>\n<li>Eccles &#8211; Deansgate-Castlefield via MediaCityUK<\/li>\n<li>Ashton-under-Lyne &#8211; Crumpsall<\/li>\n<li>Etihad Campus \u2013 Victoria<\/li>\n<li>Rochdale Town Centre \u2013 East Didsbury via Exchange Square<\/li>\n<li>Shaw &amp; Crompton \u2013 East Didsbury via Exchange Square (peak time extras)<\/li>\n<li>Manchester Airport \u2013 Deansgate-Castlefield<\/li>\n<li>Trafford Centre \u2013 Cornbrook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sunday<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bury \u2013 Altrincham via Exchange Square<\/li>\n<li>Ashton-under-Lyne \u2013 Crumpsall<\/li>\n<li>Eccles &#8211; Deansgate-Castlefield via MediaCityUK<\/li>\n<li>Etihad Campus \u2013 Victoria<\/li>\n<li>Rochdale Town Centre \u2013 East Didsbury via Exchange Square<\/li>\n<li>Manchester Airport \u2013 Deansgate-Castlefield<\/li>\n<li>Trafford Centre \u2013 Cornbrook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Services running to Crumpsall should mean the rare use of the third platform which was built there and has yet to be used on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>There are no planned dedicated bus replacement services with passengers advised to either use the free bus 1 &amp; 2 which runs across the city centre or to walk with a walking route provided. They can also change trams at Victoria to make journeys by tram across the city.<\/p>\n<p>Ian Davies, TfGM\u2019s Interim Network Director for Metrolink, said: \u201cMetrolink is the biggest light rail system in the country, so it\u2019s critically important that we keep investing in the network and making sure it remains a safe, reliable and accessible way to get around Greater Manchester well into the future. We will be doing everything we can to minimise disruption for passengers, and I would encourage people to plan ahead and check our website or the Bee Network app for the latest travel information before setting off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further trackworks are scheduled to take place later this year including at High Street, Church Street, Portland Street, Aytoun Street and Piccadilly Gardens.
