Black Country Women\u2019s Aid has been selected as the West Midlands Metro charity of the year. Each year the operator selects a charity to benefit from internal fundraising activities and this year saw colleagues nominate and vote for a cause close to their hearts.<\/p>\n

Black Country Women\u2019s Aid is an independent charity that has been at the forefront of providing support for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence in the region for over 30 years. Their vital services offer survivors a pathway to rebuild their lives through specialised support, advocacy, and safe spaces.<\/p>\n
In 2024, West Midlands Metro supported Acorns Children\u2019s Hospice with a total of \u00a31,153 raised through a number of events such as a Christmas Jumper Day, coffee mornings and skydiving. Its hoped that the next 12 months will see even more fundraising events to support this year\u2019s charity.<\/p>\n

We both work at the heart of our communities, so this partnership is a valuable opportunity to further raise awareness for our victim support services.
