{"id":57210,"date":"2025-02-08T22:00:33","date_gmt":"2025-02-08T22:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=57210"},"modified":"2025-02-08T18:56:38","modified_gmt":"2025-02-08T18:56:38","slug":"two-more-metrocars-go-for-scrap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=57210","title":{"rendered":"Two more Metrocars go for scrap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the recent update from Nexus on how they are planning the phased introduction of the new trains for the Tyne and Wear Metro they also mentioned how as units enter service it will lead to the continued disposal of already withdrawn and stored original Metrocars. And that is exactly what has happened recently as two further trains have gone away to meet their end.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The first of the trains to be transported off Metro metals for scrap was <strong>4037<\/strong> which made the trip on Tuesday 4<sup>th<\/sup> February 2025. This was then followed by <strong>4076<\/strong> which was moved for scrapping on Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup> February 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The final movements of <strong>4076<\/strong> before being loaded onto a lorry for its move were caught on video by YouTube channel T&amp;WM Fan and this can be viewed at <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/BmMQi0vJBHE?si=hnO7EzGH2wlUROJX\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/BmMQi0vJBHE?si=hnO7EzGH2wlUROJX<\/a>.
