{"id":56371,"date":"2024-12-06T20:00:22","date_gmt":"2024-12-06T20:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=56371"},"modified":"2024-12-06T19:44:31","modified_gmt":"2024-12-06T19:44:31","slug":"in-pictures-trams-start-running-at-beamish-again-just-not-all-the-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=56371","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: Trams start running at Beamish again \u2013 just not all the way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a brief suspension at the end of November, trams are running again at Beamish although the overhead issues at Pockerley mean that they are currently unable to operate on the full circuit.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As we reported last week, trams were suspended from Thursday 28<sup>th<\/sup> November until Sunday 1<sup>st<\/sup> December owing to the issue with the overhead at Pockerley. With the museum closed on Mondays and Tuesdays at this time of the year, when it reopened on Wednesday 4<sup>th<\/sup> December the trams were back out but until repairs can be completed they will only be running between the Entrance and the Town via Foulbridge\/Home Farm.<\/p>\n<p>This revised service does mean that visitors will get to see trolleys being turned on the trams on a regular basis \u2013 something which doesn\u2019t happen all that regularly at Beamish with them usually running either clockwise or anti-clockwise on the circular route. When two trams are being used they pass at Foulbridge\/Home Farm (the only passing point on the open section, expect in the Town and at the Entrance which are the current termini of course).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The latest named storm \u2013 Storm Darragh this time \u2013 which is arriving in the UK this weekend will see Beamish closed on Saturday 7<sup>th<\/sup> December.
