Steve Warrener has been confirmed as the new permanent Managing Director of Transport for Greater Manchester. He had been in the role on an interim basis since January 2024 and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of an organisation that from 2025 will have an annual expenditure of \u00a31 billion.<\/p>\n

Steve has been working for TfGM since 2007 and was previously in senior finance roles including at Manchester Airport and KPMG. He was also formerly Finance and Corporate Services Director at TfGM.<\/p>\n
During his time at TfGM, Steve has overseen the launch of the Bee Network, as Greater Manchester made history by being the first area to bring buses back under local control, as well as the delivery of a number of key projects that have transformed public transport including the \u00a32 billion project which has seen Metrolink become the UK\u2019s largest tram network.<\/p>\n
Steve commented: \u201cI am proud to have been permanently appointed as Managing Director at TfGM.\u00a0 While I have played a part in many milestones and achievements during my time here, there is no more exciting time than now.<\/p>\n
