{"id":56144,"date":"2024-11-17T17:00:01","date_gmt":"2024-11-17T17:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=56144"},"modified":"2024-11-17T08:39:03","modified_gmt":"2024-11-17T08:39:03","slug":"manchester-metrolink-then-now-mosley-street-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=56144","title":{"rendered":"Manchester Metrolink Then &#038; Now: Mosley Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its time for \u201cManchester Metrolink Then &amp; Now\u201d again and we remain in the city centre, although its back onto the original route across the city centre this time.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Trams have run along Mosley Street in the city centre since 27<sup>th<\/sup> April 1992 with any trams needing to run between St Peter\u2019s Square and either Market Street or Piccadilly Gardens having to run along these tracks. There was once a tramstop here but it was removed on 18<sup>th<\/sup> May 2013 with it having been the last \u201cshort\u201d platform on the network.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_56145\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1a.mosely-kc.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56145\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56145\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1a.mosely-kc-550x367.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1a.mosely-kc-550x367.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1a.mosely-kc-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1a.mosely-kc.jpg 1285w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-56145\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It was before that single direction stop was built that this first photo was taken with it dating from 1989, pre-Metrolink construction works. It was just a normal road at this time and we see two minibuses running under the Little Gem branding heading away from us. We\u2019ve missed the years of there being a stop here with the former Mosley Street platform having been gone for over 10 years but it would have been on the right-hand side in this area.
