Crich Tramway Village have announced that they have been awarded a special Heritage Grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The award, worth \u00a383,080, is in support of a year-long project to help build the business resilience of the Tramway Museum Society.<\/p>\n

The grant will focus on three key areas: audience data analysis, business planning and volunteer support.<\/p>\n
Karen Rigg, TMS Chairman, said: \u201cThese are all key to helping us understand where to concentrate our resources in future.<\/p>\n
\u201cA new role of Volunteer Co-Ordinator and Mentor will be very valuable, as building and retaining the volunteer team is important\u00a0 to us.\u00a0 The majority of our team who run the demonstration tramway are volunteers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe charity is reliant on income from our visitors, together with legacies and donations and we couldn\u2019t operate without our volunteers, who work with us in a wide variety of roles.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re extremely grateful to National Lottery players and the Heritage Fund for their support for good causes such as Crich Tramway Village.\u00a0 The lessons we will learn from this project will be invaluable when it comes to planning and shaping new ideas for the attraction at Crich.\u201d<\/p>\n
