Moor Street Queensway in Birmingham City Centre will see trams running along it in the future as it is on the route of the Birmingham Eastside extension which will leave the current line at Bull Street and run through to Digbeth. As was first reported last month, good progress is being made on laying the tracks here with one side seeing rails on the ground and the Midland Metro Alliance team moving to the opposite carriageway. In this pictorial update Ken Jones takes a trip out to see the most recent progress.<\/p>\n

When the full line opens \u2013 at a date to be determined owing to the HS2 construction project \u2013 it will run for 1.7km between Bull Street and Digbeth via Birmingham Coach Station and Curzon Street HS2 station. It is planned that a short section of the route as far as the Clayton Hotel will open ahead of the rest with this hoped to be in 2025\/6.<\/p>\n
