It was 2004 that trams first started running in the city again and since then the network has expanded significantly and they aren\u2019t finished yet!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Its expected that 2024 will end up being a record breaking year with 50 million passenger journeys being surpassed. In total since it opened\u00a0 there have been more than 650 million passengers carried.<\/p>\n<p>The network today runs for 43km and serves 67 stops across the city and its suburbs. It now consists of two lines \u2013 the Green line and the Red line \u2013 and more than 400,000 people live with a 1km of a Luas stop.<\/p>\n<p>Luas is set to expand further in the coming years with the next line due to run to Finglas.
