The popularity and important of the Metrolink network to transport people around Greater Manchester has been confirmed once more with May 2024 being its busiest ever month in its 32 year history.<\/p>\n

During the month 4.1 million passenger journeys were recorded beating the previous best of 4 million in November 2019. May saw a number of high profile events including Manchester City\u2019s Premier League winning parade, the Greater Manchester Run and a series of concerts at the now opened Co-Op Live.<\/p>\n
Danny Vaughan, TfGM\u2019s Chief Network Officer, said: \u201cThis is a historic achievement for Metrolink and is the result of a huge team effort between TfGM and the operator KeolisAmey Metrolink over the last few years.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt shows just how important Metrolink is for Greater Manchester, as well as demonstrating Metrolink\u2019s integral role as part of the Bee Network. It is also a testament to the staff on the frontlines and behind the scenes who keep the network running reliably.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis growth in passenger numbers, together with our renewed focus on tackling fare evasion is helping to get Metrolink back on track following the decline in passengers during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
