To make sure that if this does happen everyone is prepared for what they can do there are semi regular rehearsals involving the emergency services and one such exercise took place in Nottingham on Friday 31st October.

Rather than disrupt services this emergency exercise took place within the confines of the Wilkinson Street Depot complex with one of the Bombardier Incentro trams used on the departure road along with members from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service practicing on how they would deal with any real life situation on the tram network.

The exercise used Incentro 209 with the fire crews simulating having to lift the tram to be able to rescue a casualty. Exercises such as this are vital training for both the fire service and staff from Nottingham Express Transit in case such a scenario happens so all are prepared for what to do.
