Although no date has been set just yet for passenger services to recommence this is an important and positive step towards it.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As you\u2019ll probably recall the tramway had originally been due to reopen for the 2024 season on 30<sup>th<\/sup> March (Easter weekend) but shortly before this date it was announced that owing to a component failure in the substation this wouldn\u2019t be possible until repairs could be completed.<\/p>\n<p>Now the volunteers from the tramway have worked alongside their partners at Manchester City Council and Heaton Park to complete these repairs. This has enabled trams to start running on the line under their own power again, with Saturday 4<sup>th<\/sup> May seeing Blackpool pair <strong>619<\/strong> and <strong>623<\/strong> out on test and crew re-familiarisation.<\/p>\n<p>This will now continue to ensure that everything is in place to allow the safe resumption of services in due course.
