It remains double track but whereas we haven’t had to worry about our progress being stopped just before the stop at Addiscombe there is a signalled road crossing. The site of Addiscombe tramstop is on the site of Bingham Road Halt (closed 1915), this was replaced by Bingham Road in 1935 but this was the other side of Bingham Road from the tramstop. Although there was an Addiscombe railway station this was on a branch line. Once again we have platforms either side of the tracks with the normal facilities. Not long after the tram leaves the stop there is another road crossing (this time its Bingham Road) and the route continues to Sandilands junction where it joins with the line to and from New Addington.

2536 arrives at Addiscombe in this photo as it heads towards central Croydon and then Wimbledon.

We then take a look at 2541 which is going the other way.
