The closure was initially only due to be in place until midday but a delay in the completion of the work saw this extended leading to a further suspension of services.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The overhead was taken down and replaced on both the up and down lines between Black Lake and Lodge Road. This came just six days before a major closure of the line from Wednesbury (Parkway from 23<sup>rd<\/sup> to 25<sup>th<\/sup> March and Great Western Street from 26<sup>th<\/sup> March to 9<sup>th<\/sup> April) to Edgbaston Village which will allow the new line due to run to Dudley and eventually Brierley Hill to be connected up to the existing line from Birmingham to Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_53085\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=53085\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-53085\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53085\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-53085\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1.48-aw-550x298.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-53085\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">No through route for 48 at Black Lake during the works with the stop boards preventing it from going any further.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_53086\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=53086\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-53086\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53086\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-53086\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2.48-aw-550x302.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"302\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-53086\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">And then demonstrates the use of the crossover on its return to Wolverhampton Railway Station.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_53087\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=53087\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-53087\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53087\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-53087\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/3.overhead-aw-550x349.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"349\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-53087\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Work taking place on the overhead.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_53088\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=53088\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-53088\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53088\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-53088\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/4.overhead-aw-550x293.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-53088\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Whilst the line was due to be released for service again from midday the time on the displays show that didn\u2019t take place.
