There could be more cause for celebration for Edinburgh Trams later this year after they revealed they\u2019ve been nominated for in more categories at the Scottish Transport Awards. These awards celebrate excellence in the Scottish transport industry and last year Edinburgh Trams were proud to have been named \u201cPublic Transport Operator of the Year\u201d at the ceremony.<\/p>\n

This year they\u2019re up for the same award whilst have also received nominations for \u201cExcellence in Travel Information and Marketing\u201d and \u201cTransport Team\/Partnership of the Year\u201d. The opening of the line to Newhaven and the record passenger numbers which have followed on from that have seen the nominations received for \u201cPublic Transport Operator of the Year\u201d and \u201cTransport Team\/Partnership of the Year\u201d whilst \u201cExcellence in Travel Information and Marketing\u201d is for the \u201cGlide to the Airport\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n
Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams\u2019 Managing Director, said: \u201cHaving scooped the top title in 2023, we\u2019re delighted to be considered for the Public Transport Operator of the Year accolade for the second year running.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt demonstrates how we\u2019ve built on the successful launch of services to Newhaven and seen customer numbers double in the months since while helping communities in areas served by the new line unlock their potential.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be considered as potential winners in two further categories also reflects our commitment to providing world-class, environmentally friendly, and socially inclusive transport for both residents and visitors to the city.\u201d<\/p>\n
