We continue on the route of the Addiscombe to Elmers End railway line which was in operation until closed in 1997 in order to be converted to tram operation. Starting off as double track we go single track on the approach to Elmers End station. Whereas at Beckenham Junction we were outside the railway station this time we\u2019re within it and have a platform face all to ourselves with immediate cross platform interchange for trains into central London (or across the bridge to take the train to Hayes).
