{"id":52836,"date":"2024-03-02T18:00:01","date_gmt":"2024-03-02T18:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52836"},"modified":"2024-02-25T08:47:01","modified_gmt":"2024-02-25T08:47:01","slug":"around-the-world-in-trams-vienna-123405","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52836","title":{"rendered":"Around the World in Trams: Vienna 123+405"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The March location for \u201cAround the World in Trams\u201d will be the Austrian city of Vienna.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The city of Vienna has an extensive public transport network and this includes a standard tramway, metro and railways. Wiener Lokalbahnen operates the local railway network (a nearly 19 mile line) but this does share some track with the tram between Baden Viadukt and Baden Leesdorf and Wien Schedifkaplatz and Wien Oper and so the vehicles used have a definite tram look.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the Wiener Lokalbahnen line that we feature in the photo below as see <strong>123<\/strong> in May 2018 along with <strong>405<\/strong>. The two are at Karlpatz heading for the terminus at Wein Opera. <strong>123<\/strong> was built in 1993 as a SGP 100 and <strong>405<\/strong> is a Bombardier 400 which was built seven years later.
