{"id":52804,"date":"2024-02-27T18:00:46","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T18:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52804"},"modified":"2024-02-27T12:46:52","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T12:46:52","slug":"more-london-trams-closure-to-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52804","title":{"rendered":"More London Trams closure to come"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are to be more line closures on the London Trams network over the next couple of months \u2013 including a lengthy, almost a month, closure between 29<sup>th<\/sup> March and 24<sup>th<\/sup> April. These latest closure come not long after no trams ran through central Croydon for a couple of weeks earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Significant rail replacement works \u2013 including on crossovers and points \u2013 are to take place on the eastern parts of the network which will mean that for a time only the Wimbledon line will see any form of service in operation.<\/p>\n<p>The Transport for London planned track closures document lists the following forthcoming London Trams closures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saturday 9<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 10<sup>th<\/sup> March \u2013 Sandilands to New Addington<\/li>\n<li>Saturday 16<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 17<sup>th<\/sup> March \u2013 Sandilands to New Addington<\/li>\n<li>Saturday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and Sunday 24<sup>th<\/sup> March &#8211; Sandilands to New Addington<\/li>\n<li>Friday 29<sup>th<\/sup> March to Wednesday 24<sup>th<\/sup> April \u2013 Elmers End to New Addington, Reeves Corner to Beckenham Junction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ignoring the fact that the routes mentioned in the lengthy closure don\u2019t make much sense, it looks that for around four weeks there will be no trams running from Reeves Corner eastbound which will mean that the Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington lines will all be closed throughout that period.<\/p>\n<p>Reports suggest that there are two main locations where the works will be taking place in the 4 week long closure \u2013 East Croydon and Sandilands Junction.<\/p>\n<p>Replacement bus services are expected to be offered to allow passengers to get where they need to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are to be more line closures on the London Trams network over the next couple of months \u2013 including a lengthy, almost a month, closure between 29th March and 24th April.
