{"id":52751,"date":"2024-02-23T18:00:49","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T18:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52751"},"modified":"2024-02-18T08:40:10","modified_gmt":"2024-02-18T08:40:10","slug":"picture-in-time-san-francisco-1326","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=52751","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: San Francisco 1326"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another instalment of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d and its another image taken in the UK but of a tram from overseas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At the start of this century Manchester Metrolink were looking for increased capacity on the network and as part of a fact finding mission they imported two trams from San Francisco. These were two Boeing trams of 1977 vintage \u2013 one of which, <strong>1326<\/strong>, is pictured below at Queens Road Depot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1326<\/strong> arrived in Manchester in 2001 and it was eventually decided that the trams were not suitable for operation on Metrolink. It did linger on at the depot for several years though and it was not until 2008 that it was scrapped.
