This will allow both the Dudley extension to be connected to the Birmingham-Wolverhampton line and Sandwell Council to undertake work on a bridge. The main closure will be from 23<sup>rd<\/sup> March to 9<sup>th<\/sup> April but there will also be evening closures for a further six weeks after this.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The initial closure is to allow the two West Midlands Metro lines to be joined up ahead of its planned opening in late 2024. This means that no trams are able to run between Wednesbury and Edgbaston Village. At the same time Sandwell Council are taking the opportunity to remove and replace Dudley Street bridge close to Dudley Street Guns Village tramstop.<\/p>\n<p>The following changes will be in place:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> to Monday 25<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trams will operate up to every 10 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Wednesbury Parkway<\/li>\n<li>No trams between Wednesbury Parkway and Edgbaston Village<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 26<sup>th<\/sup> March to Tuesday 9<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trams will operate up to every 10 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Wednesbury Great Western Street<\/li>\n<li>No trams between Wednesbury Great Western Street and Edgbaston Village<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whilst the above dates will see the completion of the Metro works, Sandwell Council will still be continuing to work safely completing their bridge works on the following dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> and Thursday 11<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 14<sup>th<\/sup> to Thursday 18<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 21<sup>st<\/sup> to Thursday 25<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 28<sup>th<\/sup> April to Thursday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<li>Monday 6<sup>th<\/sup> to Thursday 9<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 12<sup>th<\/sup> to Thursday 16<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During these dates there will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No trams between Black Lake and Edgbaston Village after 2000<\/li>\n<li>Trams will continue to operate every 15 minutes between Black Lake and Wolverhampton Station<\/li>\n<li>Normal service continues on the whole open tramway before 2000 each day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will also be no service between Black Lake and Edgbaston Village all day on Saturday 4<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 5<sup>th<\/sup> May.<\/p>\n<p>Alternative travel arrangements are currently being finalised.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As was reported a few weeks ago there will be changes to services on the West Midlands Metro from March.
