The latest structure will carry the trams over the A52 and is part of a series of structures which will eventually form a 300 metre long elevated tram route through the Queens Medical Centre, over the A52 and down into the University of Nottingham\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The bridge was moved from the Queen\u2019s Medical Centre using state of the art transporters. The new steel bowstring arch bridge was jacked six metres up to its installation height before its final journey on top of four 40 wheel self propelled modular transporters. It measures 62 metres long and weighs more than 1,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Anderson, Project Director for Taylor Woodrow Alstom, said: \u201cFollowing the success of the bridge slide over Nottingham Railway Station, this is another key element of the construction project.
