But alongside the work on expanding the system there is also some general trackwork on the existing lines which is required and it looks set to see track relaid through a few of the stops.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Preparation for this has started at West Bromwich Central, Kenrick Park, The Hawthorns and Soho Benson Road. This has seen sections of the pedestrian crossings being removed so that an inspection of the track can take place ahead of the new rails being put down.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_52597\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=52597\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-52597\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52597\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-52597\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/1.55-aw-550x282.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"282\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-52597\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">55 is seen here arriving at The Hawthorns on the way north to Wolverhampton Railway Station.
