Usually when someone gets married and wants to get from ceremony to reception they book a nice car to do the honours. Not so for newlyweds Sarah and Bradley Stamp as they instead took the Tyne and Wear Metro for a short trip!<\/p>\n

The newly married couple took the Metro for a journey between Haymarket and Monument and were joined by some of their guests as well as the photographer! They got married at Newcastle Civic Centre and then headed to their reception at Lola Jeans Bar and Restaurant on Market Street.<\/p>\n
Sarah, 29, said: \u201cWe thought it would be such a cool vibe for our wedding day, we wanted to capture the business of the city and the retro vibe of the station suited our aesthetic perfectly. We didn\u2019t want a traditional wedding and getting on the Metro to travel through town was so different that it complemented our day perfectly. It was so much fun getting on the metro and seeing people\u2019s reaction. The Metro team made a congratulatory announcement and the whole platform erupted in applause. We felt famous!\u201d<\/p>\n
Bradley, 31, added: \u201cIt was pretty decent to get such a warm reception at Haymarket. The staff were awesome and the other passengers seemed to love it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lynne Dickinson, Station Delivery Manager for Nexus, said: \u201cA Metro train isn\u2019t exactly your run of mill wedding car but we were absolutely thrilled to welcome Sarah and Bradley on board for their special day.\u00a0It was a short trip from Haymarket down to Monument but it certainly caught the attention of other customers, who all looked thrilled.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur customer service teams really enjoyed it too, being able to play their part in such a nice, happy story. It was a busy Saturday for us but Metro kept our newlyweds firmly on track to join up with their family and friends in time for their wedding reception.\u00a0Our heartfelt congratulations go to Sarah and Bradley, and we wish them every health happiness for their future together as man and wife.\u201d<\/p>\n
