Rather than terminate Blue route services short, all services from Halfway were diverted to Middlewood instead leading to the unusual sight of trams with Halfway as the destination along Middlewood Road.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>A by-product of the diversion of all Blue route trams to Middlewood was a doubling in frequency of services between Hillsborough and Middlewood which would have been very handy if Sheffield Wednesday were playing at home \u2013 except they weren\u2019t as they were away at Bristol City!
