The naming took place on Thursday 26<sup>th<\/sup> October and sees a nameplate carried at the A end only.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>John Evans was a Revenue Protection Inspector at Tram Operations who passed away suddenly from Covid-19 during the first lockdown in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The simple nameplate \u2013 \u201cJOHN EVANS 1956-2020\u201d \u2013 is affixed to only the A end of <strong>2556<\/strong> (one of the Variobahn trams) and is located just behind the side fleet number on the tram.<\/p>\n<p>There are now three Tramlink trams named, with <strong>2535<\/strong> having been named in 2007 \u201cSTEPHEN PARASCANDOLO 1980-2007\u201d in commemoration of the webmaster of the Unofficial Croydon Tramlink website who died in a car accident.
