Its time for another change of location for \u201cPicture in Time\u201d as we leave Blackpool and head to Crich for a photo of\u2026 a Blackpool tram!<\/p>\n

That Blackpool tram is one that hasn\u2019t actually run in service for over 30 years but at the time of this photo was a regular member of the operating fleet \u2013 Standard 49<\/strong>. One of Blackpool\u2019s Standard Cars, 49<\/strong> was built in 1926 and ran in Blackpool until final withdrawal came in 1962. Its been preserved in its final fully enclosed condition and although it was at one stage in red, white and teak livery it was in the familiar green and cream livery by the time this photo was taken.<\/p>\n It was 27th<\/sup> August 1979 that it was captured on camera \u2013 this was an August Bank Holiday Monday. This came just a three years after its last workshop attention with it having returned to service in 1977 and it would remain an integral part of the operating fleet until 1992 when it was taken out of use. Since then it has remained on static display and can now be found in the depots having spent some time in the Exhibition Hall.<\/p>\n
