{"id":50944,"date":"2023-09-08T18:00:22","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T17:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50944"},"modified":"2023-09-05T20:31:13","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T19:31:13","slug":"picture-in-time-croydon-tramlink-2542-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50944","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Croydon Tramlink 2542"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having spent the past few weeks looking at the construction of Croydon Tramlink this week \u201cPicture in Time\u201d moves beyond that work and features the system after it started to operate.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The below photo was taken on 31<sup>st<\/sup> March 2000 and shows <strong>2542<\/strong> running on the reserved track section of George Street with a service to Beckenham Junction. At this time that was route 2 and ran around the central Croydon loop. This tram was one of the first to receive an all over advert with it featuring vinyls for Amey, who were involved in the building of the line.
