{"id":50913,"date":"2023-09-05T18:00:38","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T17:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50913"},"modified":"2023-09-05T12:52:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T11:52:44","slug":"metro-cube-gets-mo-farah-makeover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50913","title":{"rendered":"Metro cube gets Mo Farah makeover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the very first time one of the Tyne and Wear Metro station cubes has been changed to celebrate someone\u2019s individual achievement with Sir Mo Farah being celebrated ahead of his final competitive appearance at the Great North Run.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The cube at Heworth Interchange in Gateshead has been changed to show a silhouette of the famous \u201cMobot\u201d dance move. Described as a \u201cMetMo\u201d cube, it will now be seen by thousands or runners and spectators taking part in the world famous Great North Run on Sunday 10<sup>th<\/sup> September.<\/p>\n<p>As well as the \u201cMetMo\u201d cube, Sir Mo Farah has also recorded a series of announcements on the Metro public address system as part of the countdown to the world famous half marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Lynne Dickinson, Head of Station Delivery at Nexus, said: \u201cThe Metro cubes are a unique and an iconic part of life in our region, making them then perfect place to showcase a tribute to Sir Mo Farah ahead of his final race in the Great North Run.\u00a0This is the first time that we have ever changed the logo on a Metro cube, but we really wanted to do something to celebrate Mo\u2019s amazing career, someone who is now just as synonymous with the proud history of the Great North Run.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Metro cube at Heworth will have the Mobot logo on for the next week or so.
