{"id":50838,"date":"2023-08-30T21:00:11","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T20:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50838"},"modified":"2023-09-05T19:05:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T18:05:47","slug":"105-returns-to-sheffield-or-at-least-two-thirds-of-it-does","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50838","title":{"rendered":"105 returns to Sheffield \u2013 or at least two thirds of it does!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Stagecoach Supertram 105<\/strong> \u2013 one of the original fleet of 25 trams built by Siemens-Duewag for the opening of the system in 1994 \u2013 is on its way back to operation after two thirds of the tram returned to Sheffield on Wednesday 30<sup>th<\/sup> August. The tram has been in Kilmarnock undergoing repairs following accident damage.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It was back on 23<sup>rd<\/sup> July 2021 that <strong>105<\/strong> was involved in a collision at the Bernard Road crossing close to Hyde Park on the Yellow route to Meadowhall. It was hit by a lorry on the signalled crossing (the driver of the lorry was charged with multiple motoring offences as a result) which saw the tram derailed and suffer significant damage. A woman in her 20s on board the tram was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>After the accident, <strong>105<\/strong> was returned to Nunnery Square Depot (a relatively short distance from where it was hit) where it was assessed and a decision made on its future.
