{"id":50651,"date":"2023-08-13T17:00:09","date_gmt":"2023-08-13T16:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50651"},"modified":"2023-08-13T10:52:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-13T09:52:21","slug":"stop-by-stop-edinburgh-trams-newhaven-extension-ocean-terminal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=50651","title":{"rendered":"Stop by Stop Edinburgh Trams: Newhaven extension \u2013 Ocean Terminal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We continue our journey along the Edinburgh Trams extension to Newhaven as we go \u201cStop by Stop\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After we depart from Newhaven (depending on which platform you\u2019re at you may use the crossover to gain the right track) the tramway initially travels on a short section of reserved section of track before it starts to share the road with other vehicles. It goes along Melrose Drive (views of the Royal Yacht Britannia can just be seen if looking left just after the Cruise Terminal) before a sharp turn left onto Ocean Drive. With the Ocean Terminal shopping centre dominating the scene to the left we soon come to the first intermediate stop on the extension \u2013 Ocean Terminal.<\/p>\n<p>This is an island platform with track either side. It includes everything you could possibly want from a tramstop \u2013 ticket machines and validator, shelters, seating, passenger information displays, information panels, lighting and CCTV.
