The final photo from our stop on the Isle of Man for \u201cPicture in Time\u201d features an image of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway.<\/p>\n

This is September 1990 and we are at the Derby Castle terminus of the horse tramway. It\u2019s a case of an unrepeatable image for both the tram and the building in the background are no longer in situ. The tram we see is 34<\/strong> which is including advertising for Golden Wonder crisps (\u201cThe True Wonders of the World\u201d). 34<\/strong> was sold as part of the reduction of the fleet once the Isle of Man government took over operation of the tramway and has since been converted to a road vehicle, often seen around the island and based at the Jurby Transport Museum. The building in the background is part of the once extensive Summerland complex, which had reopened in 1978 after the tragic fire of 1973. It finally closed in 2004 with demolition underway two years later although still to this day parts remain due to its proximity to the cliff.<\/p>\n
