With a handy tramstop at Town Hall for Centenary Square the Metro is ideally placed to transport people to the events and volunteers at the festival will be able to travel on the trams for free.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Birmingham Festival 23 marks the first anniversary of the start of the Commonwealth Games and will be a extravaganza of dance, music and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Reading-Skilton, West Midlands Metro Commercial Manager, said: \u201cJust this week we\u2019ve seen the return of the iconic games mascot, Ozzy the mechanical bull, to the city centre, and now we\u2019re gearing up to help Birmingham continue the anniversary celebrations. The opening of Edgbaston extension ahead of the opening ceremony provided a real boost to those who attended the games and, a year on, we stand ready to help visitors and residents from across the region soak up the festival atmosphere.
