Amongst the many categories to be announced on the night, is the UK Tram Operator of the Year and the vast majority of modern tramway systems in the country are up for this award.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The shortlist (or list of UK tramway\u2019s outside of London as it actually appears to be) consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blackpool Tramway<\/li>\n<li>Edinburgh Trams<\/li>\n<li>Manchester Metrolink<\/li>\n<li>Nottingham Express Transit<\/li>\n<li>South Yorkshire Supertram<\/li>\n<li>West Midlands Metro<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of these systems, Edinburgh Trams are quick off the mark with a press release to celebrate their nomination. Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: \u201cOn the back of previous wins at Scottish Transport Awards, to be in line for further accolades at a national level shows that Edinburgh Trams is leading the transport sector when it comes to innovation and carbon reduction. To be shortlisted for the coveted Tram Operator of the Year Award is also testament to all the hard work and professionalism demonstrated by the Edinburgh Trams team ahead of the launch of services to Leith, Ocean Terminal, and Newhaven.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As well as this nomination, Edinburgh Trams are also on the shortlist in the Exemplary Contribution to Net Zero and Digital and Technology Excellence in Transport categories.
