{"id":49541,"date":"2023-05-20T22:00:07","date_gmt":"2023-05-20T21:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=49541"},"modified":"2023-05-20T16:54:13","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T15:54:13","slug":"in-pictures-trams-at-the-very-light-rail-innovation-centre-dudley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=49541","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: Trams at the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre, Dudley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you\u2019ll probably be well aware \u2013 we may have reported on it every now and then! \u2013 the Very Light Rail Innovation in Dudley has become a repair base for the West Midlands Metro Urbos3 trams with several having been moved there since last October for work to take place on its bodyside panelling where cracks were discovered. But on a visit in mid-May 2023, Andy Walters found another trams stabled outside as we see in this latest pictorial update.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The date of this visit was Sunday 14<sup>th<\/sup> May with the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre building home to two trams under repair. These were <strong>25<\/strong> and <strong>30<\/strong> which had been moved over on 25<sup>th<\/sup> March and 14<sup>th<\/sup> April respectively. From a quick look it seems that <strong>25<\/strong> is starting to reach an end to the work with some of the seats now having been reinstalled in the tram.<\/p>\n<p>But that wasn\u2019t where the tram interest ended as stabled outside was a Parry People Mover. In a plain white livery the vehicle has various logos of companies who have obviously been involved in some development of the concept. This includes HM Government, Pre Metro Operations (who operate the Stourbridge shuttle service), Dudley College of Technology, Birmingham City University and Parry People Movers. Where this vehicle has previously run is unknown and what its purpose at the facility is also not known.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49542\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=49542\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-49542\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49542\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-49542\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/1.25-aw-550x347.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"347\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-49542\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">25 is closest to the window is this view from outside the facility. 30 is on the far side.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_49543\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=49543\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-49543\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49543\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-49543\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/225-aw-550x326.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"326\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-49543\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Through the next window and another look at 25.
