Work will get underway on Saturday 15<sup>th<\/sup> July with trams not set to resume until Friday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> September.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It has been known for a while that there would be another major closure on the Eccles line this summer with further work to replace the track required but this is the first confirmation of exactly when and where it will be. During this period (15<sup>th<\/sup> July to 21<sup>st<\/sup> September) all trams from Ashton will run as far as Weaste with replacement buses in operation for the remainder of the route between Weaste and Eccles. These trams will run via MediaCityUK as normal except for on Saturday 15<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 16<sup>th<\/sup> July when further works take place on the short spur.<\/p>\n<p>The current planned Metrolink engineering works over the next few months are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday 14<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A network wide shutdown will mean trams will not leave depots until 0900. A full Sunday service should be back running by 1030.<\/li>\n<li>No replacement buses or ticket acceptance will be in place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday 24<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 25<sup>th<\/sup> June<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No trams between Ashton and Cornbrook<\/li>\n<li>Trams from Eccles will only run as far as Cornbrook<\/li>\n<li>Replacement buses will run<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday 15<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 16<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No trams will run between Eccles and Weaste or to MediaCityUK<\/li>\n<li>Trams from Ashton will run as far as Weaste but will not serve MediaCityUK<\/li>\n<li>Replacement buses will run<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monday 17<sup>th<\/sup> July to Thursday 21<sup>st<\/sup> September<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No trams will run between Eccles and Weaste<\/li>\n<li>Trams from Ashton will run to Weaste via MediaCityUK<\/li>\n<li>Replacement buses will run<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Details of all planned engineering works are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/tfgm.com\/metrolink-improvement-works\">https:\/\/tfgm.com\/metrolink-improvement-works<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There will be no trams running between Weaste and Eccles for just over two months from mid-July as more major engineering works take place on the Manchester Metrolink network.
