{"id":49465,"date":"2023-05-12T18:00:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T17:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=49465"},"modified":"2023-05-12T17:14:32","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T16:14:32","slug":"picture-in-time-tyne-and-wear-metro-4027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=49465","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Tyne and Wear Metro 4027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we take another trip into the archives for this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d with another view of one of the Tyne and Wear Metro\u2019s Metrocars in service.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After last week\u2019s pre-system opening images of a vehicle on test we move forward in time to 27<sup>th<\/sup> June 1989 and find ourselves at Ilford Road. This station was newly built for the Tyne and Wear Metro and welcomed its first trains on 11<sup>th<\/sup> August 1980 as part of the opening of the first phase of the system.
