{"id":48824,"date":"2023-03-22T22:00:10","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T22:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48824"},"modified":"2023-03-22T20:04:24","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T20:04:24","slug":"in-pictures-blackpool-40-on-test-at-crich-as-more-trams-enter-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48824","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: Blackpool 40 on test at Crich as more trams enter service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its been just over a week since the Crich Tramway Village opened for another year and we\u2019ve already seen six different trams run in service \u2013 and more are being prepared for service including <strong>Blackpool Standard 40<\/strong> which has undergone some test runs ahead of its return having missed last year undergoing overhaul.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The six trams which have run so far are <strong>Glasgow 22<\/strong>, <strong>Blackpool 167<\/strong>, <strong>Leeds 180<\/strong>, <strong>Leeds 399<\/strong>, <strong>Sheffield 510<\/strong> and the latest to return to action, <strong>Liverpool 869<\/strong>. Since the museum opened for the first time on Monday 13<sup>th<\/sup> March there has been a mixture of a two and three car service in operation and this pattern will continue throughout the season, except on selected special event days when a more intensive service will be offered.<\/p>\n<p>Talking of special events and its been confirmed that this year\u2019s Tram Day will be a Tram Weekend as its taking place on both Saturday 16<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 17<sup>th<\/sup> September \u2013 so double the chance to see as many of the operating trams running as possible!<\/p>\n<p>Back to this year\u2019s operating fleet and one tram which it hopefully won\u2019t be too long until its back running in passenger service is <strong>Blackpool Standard 40<\/strong>. This tram didn\u2019t run at all in 2022 as it was undergoing an overhaul in the Crich workshops but with this work now completed <strong>40<\/strong> has ventured out onto the mainline again for the start of testing as part of its commissioning for service. During a test run Blackpool 40 is at Glory Mine with Glasgow 22 (which was in service) for company.
