{"id":48686,"date":"2023-03-17T18:00:23","date_gmt":"2023-03-17T18:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48686"},"modified":"2023-03-11T18:57:38","modified_gmt":"2023-03-11T18:57:38","slug":"picture-in-time-blackpool-boat-606-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48686","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Blackpool Boat 606"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Time for another \u201cPicture in Time\u201d and this week we include a couple of photos of one of the always popular Open Boat Cars.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Its again July 1977 and on a fine and sunny afternoon what\u2019s better than to send a Boat Car to Fleetwood? It was <strong>606<\/strong> which headed north and in these two images we see it as it makes its way back south to Pleasure Beach. As we see <strong>606<\/strong> is in the simple cream and green fleet livery and has a single pane windscreen installed. Today this tram is one of four Boats which has gone on a boat and now calls the USA its home. It can currently be seen at the National Capital Trolley Museum in Colesville, Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>This first image shows the tram on the reserved track section in Fleetwood sandwiched between Radcliffe Road (behind the photographer) and Copse Road (behind the tram). The crossover near the site of the line off to the closed Copse Road Depot can be seen in the background, not far south of today\u2019s Stanley Road stop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=48687\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-48687\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-48687\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/1.606-db-550x371.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/1.606-db-550x371.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/1.606-db-1024x690.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/1.606-db-768x518.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/1.606-db.jpg 1285w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we\u2019ve raced up to Broadwater to catch the same journey and the driver is now looking distinctly more cheerful!
